PPE in Scotland - Part One S2:E5

23 May 2020

In this two-parter, we will be interviewing tech people who have changed their focus to making PPE, specifically face shields, for those who need it most.

Sarah Naseer and Roisin Arnold are a dream team based in Glasgow. In this episode they are talking about their journey of design and improvement of the shields, making custom guillotines and the demand for their products.

This work is being led by:

THIS IS MAKERS – designing the face shield and using their laser cutting equipment to produce key parts as well as assembly and distribution of the face shields.

With help and support from:

  • University of Strathclyde Motorsport (Student Society) – helping with fundraising, assembly & distribution of the face shields as well as sourcing and buying of material
  • Paisley YMCA – using their laser cutting equipment to produce key parts as well as helping with assembly and distribution of the face shields
  • BeYonder – helping with sourcing and buying of material as well as fundraising support. BeYonder has also generously donated all of the elastic for this initiative.
